Edison Ring

Art Deco, a style of art, architecture, and design from the 1920s and 30s, combined modernist styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials. During its heyday, Art Deco represented luxury, exuberance, and faith in technological progress. The Southern California Edison Building, built in 1931, was one of the first buildings in the United States to have a heating and cooling system powered by electricity. The Art Deco building's entry facade featured allegorical figures representing light and energy.
